XP Pro or 2000

I am having problems with a large assy (+7000 parts), and I am only 30% in to the design. My reseller told me that it might be because I am running windows 2000, the 3GB switch issue. Of the people out there working in large assy 1 What operating system? service packs? 3GB switch applied? etc? 2 Version or IV? services packs? 3 System specs? 4 Model size? 5 Sever info, if out of the normal. 6 Performance; fast -slow and any thing out of normal. I really think you need to switch 1 machine over and do your own bench marking. It is the only way you will really know.
