Workspace

How do we know that all workspace files from all users are Vaulted?
For example some users have concept files on their workspace... I need to made sure that all files are in the vault as we are having new workstations fitted and upgrading to 2010 so I am doing a backup of all projects and un-vaulted projects!

I believe Autoloader will do the trick. You'll find it in Start > Autodesk >
Autodesk Data Management > Tools > Autodesk Autoloader. You might get more
detailed responses at the Vault newsgroup (I don't work much with Vault
anymore so cannot provide more detail).

Best to ask this question in the autodesk.vault discussion group, but here's
one response I found:

"Workspace Sync is available in Vault Workgroup, Vault Collaboration, and
Vault Manufacturing."

Whatever else you do, backup everyone's workspace as well. Someone is just
bound to miss something, and this way you'll still have it. I do this with
each upgrade, and I sleep easier for it. Of course, I've never dealt with a
lot of seats, but I think I'd still figure out a way to do it. Hard disks
are pretty cheap insurance these days.

Dear Aidyman,

AFAIK: There is no way you can force people to vault their file(s). Talk to
them and explain the situation. Or you will need their
(vault)login-credentials to do it for them, if not the links will be lost.
If the vault-workspace(s) is/are moved to the new workstations then you have
the option to repair later.
Good luck,

Hans
