Hello Everybody, & Autodesk,
Please can any one tell me a reason behind the modification to the command right click >edit dimension done on a plane
How can I toggle back to 2012 display on the old edit dimension prompt. as it is more convinient for me to see which parameter I have used for a plane/feature. I dont like this mini toolbar.
Please help me
Thanks
The 'List Parameter' option is still available on the mini-toolbar. This behavior is consistent with Inventor 2012 in that a parameter should be created before the 'List Parameter' is available.
Can you clarify if you are talking about the cursor hint in 2012?
Its my bad the picture confused you. Sorry for that
I am asking about the following. The "edit dimension : parameter name."
which use to appear in the title of the dialogue box. (version: 2012)
Now try this in (Version:2013)
Create an offset plane. Say a plane is offset by parameter OFF=3"
and try going back to the plane from browser right click and edit dimension.
the mini tool bar does not show the parameter name.
Please find pic 2 why is that important ?
Thanks
Awwww... I got it, now.
I found another recent discussion regarding this issue, below. It turns out this is a known issue. In the below link, there is a solid hint about using the tool tips in the parameters dialogue. http://forums.autodesk.com/t5/Autodesk-Inventor/No-Parameter-Name-for-Offset-Plane/m-p/3512238#M4394... The tooltip is not quite the same thing, but it may help.
You can escalate priority of this issue by providing feedback to the development team via the link below. http://usa.autodesk.com/adsk/servlet/index?siteID=123112&id=1109794
Kt,
couple ways to so this if you want to see the parameter name.
1. In the mini-toolbar, click the > next to the dimensions and choose "list parameter". I know, they turned two clicks into four, but thats what AD calls productivity now.
2. Another way, is to hover over the workplane in the browser. It will show you the parameter name there witout clicking.... just a bunch of mouse movement.
Hope that helps,
Kirk
1. is definitely a work around but the as you said not that productive.
2. Its possbile in the assembly environment only, right?
Thanks everybody though.
have a good one.
