What version of Open GL does IV support

Hi everyone,

I've got three questions regarding IV graphics, especially with relation to IV6, IV7 and pro...

What version of the Open GL software is used by IV6-pro?

Does IV use Direct X, and if so what version of Direct X.

Is IV built to use 8x AGP or just 4x with IV6-pro.

Thanx in advance...

regards

Add to that can you use an 8x AGP G Card in an old MB.......probably not
.........will it fit.......what are the advantages in 8X AGP?.....I need a
new MB too!

Inventor will run with any OpenGL version. It will run even without OpenGL
by using software emulation. This is done when the card does not have the
OpenGL support required by Inventor.

Inventor does not use DirectX.

AGP 4x vs. 8x is purely a function of the hardware of the MB and the card.
Inventor does not know or care.

Impact of 8x: faster, smoother screen movement of objects. A faster CPU
also helps. 3D work requires a lot from a computer, a large cache (on MB
and processor) helps.

See our graphics web page for cards that do well with Inventor.

Please note that the companies that make graphics cards support specific
cards for the CAD industry. If you buy one of these supported cards, and the
driver has a problem, I will work with the vendor to get it fixed.

If you buy a card that is not in this class, the vendor will not fix any
problems you may have. The Nvidia Quadro4 380 XGL is a good buy for the
thrifty buyer at $188 from "thecadstore" on the internet.
