I'm a bit fussy about my visual style used. I like "Shaded with edges", and I want the edges black. I have set up the display to this setting in Appllication Options, Display tab (Use application Settings), and Settings button. Excellent, that's nice. (I have also mapped the numpad 6 to that style, along with 5 is Shaded with hidden edges, and 4 is wireframe).
However, In Inventor 2014 Dynamic simulation, the visual style defaults to "Shaded" (no edges). Ok, i can live with that, I guess. I'll just hit NumPad 6 and it looks good again.
Ctrl-Tab to another open file, make a change or two, come back to the DynSim and - hang on, where are my edges?? Ok, i can just hit 6 again, but should I have to? I haven't ever seen this display property changed when changing between files before.
Please can this be fixed in an SP?

I don't think you should have to.
I don't understand why anyone would work in DS without edges displayed - should be the default in my opinion.
I don't think they see it as a defect.
Thank you for bringing this up again.
It's been in our database for quite some time as ID 1329716. I bumped up the priority and added a link to this discussion, in hopes it can gain more attention for resolution.

I realize this is an old postin but the problem is still present in v2015. I recently upgraded from 2011 so this is bothersome to me.
My visual style preference is exactly the same: sshaded with edges, and the edges are set to black. I feel this should be the default visuals style; it's very clean, easy to see, and visually appealing.

Don't hold your breath.
Unless it is Fusion - it doesn't get attention.
If its still standard behaviour in 2015, then maybe you need to bump the priortity again...

When Autodesk needs a popularity contest to fix broken stuff, I have come to the conclusion that Autodesk the company is broken, lost their way.
Added to Ideastation, per request.
