If User Account Control is On, try turning it off.

Do you mean you can see Inventor.exe process in
task manager or it will disapper in about one minute? standalone license or
network license? did you install Inventor 2010 on a clean machine or you have
installed other Autodesk products, such as Inventor 2010
Beta?

I have been having the same problem with winxp pro.
I have been working with the subscription help and they think it is my SAS drive
in my computer. it loads fine on all the other computers but mine.

"You'll still want to make sure that
you can write to the master boot record. The thing of it is, that solid state
drive may be the problem because the license binds to the 0 sector of the hard
drive (a spinning hard drive). This is in the Acresso readme as well
(

href="http://www.Acresso.com">www.Acresso.com
)."

I've just received an update on this. The problem's actually
been identified by our licensing provider, Acresso:

From the Acresso readme IOA-000040462: FLEXnet Licensing Service
crash on some 64-bit Windows
machines.

The FLEXnet licensing service no longer fails on systems where
the disk drivers have recently been updated.

So to get this to work on your XP64 bit machine, you'd need to
update your disk drivers from the manufacturer and make sure that your system
isn't write protected for the master boot record: At boot time select the
“setup” option to enter he BIOS and look for a setting (usually under security)
that blocks modification of the
MBR.

The same process needs to be followed in the AV software. If you
have an IT department, they can check it out for you.

did you installed other Inventor Beta edition?
please try to uninstall all the Inventor 2010 build and use Windows cleanup
utility tool to check whether you have clean them, if you still can see Inventor
2010 by it, remove it. then try to install Inventor
again.

so ever since i posted this thread Inventor has worked, just today the problem returned after installing this... Windows6.0-KB917607-x86.msu from microsoft for a class.

when i click Inventor 2010 nothing ever pops up, but the process can be seen in the task manager.
