Vault Professional 2014 Check in Vs Inventor 2014 Check in

I see the error when I try to perform this but ran a check on the Inventor side and seems the linking is the same. What is the difference of checking the file in from the vault after it has been saved properly on your local workspace?

jmfeider,

 

The biggest difference is that when you check a file in from Inventor a Preview DWF is created for that file in Vault the can be viewed independently.
With Vault Explorer, no Preview DWF is created.
