Vault problem

Hi. We are 5 designers who are working with Inventor 2010 with the vault. We have XP, Vista and window 7 machines. The problem is somtimes when we will check in an drawing with it´s .ipt or .iam inventor locks up. It´s when the .idw is about to check in it locks. The only thing to do then is to restart inventor. This is very anoying if you have a couple of drawings checked out. When we had Inventor 2009 we didn´t have this problem it started when we upgraded to 2010. It happens on all our computers xp, vista and 7. It happens a couple of times a day. Any suggestions? Edited by: Miwa75 on Mar 5, 2010 9:38 AM

When you check in the file. Try turning off the DWF option.
Inventor probably is not "locking up", it is actually working. Sometimes it takes a while to create the dwf file, especially the idw dwf's.

The dwf files are hidden in vault by default. In order to see them, from Vault explorer, click on Tools>Options and check the "show hidden files" box.
Post back if you have other questions.

You will also want to make sure that you have uninstalled any previous versions of Design Review. Design Review is responsible for viewing those DWF's in vault and could be interfering with the creation of the DWF's inside of Vault. If turning off the Create Visualization Attachment" option in Inventor when checking in files does not work, then you could be experiencing an iFilter issue with Vault. These filters, there is one for .ipt's and .iam's and one for the .dwg's and .idw's., could interfere with the checking in of these particular files also.
