Variable Rectangular Pattern

Hi

I am using Autodesk Inventor 2014. In part modelling I have a feature and I want a rectangular pattern of it with variable spacing like at 2,4,7,10,13 and its random.

Is there any way of doing it in inventor? Can it be done with the help of ilogic where I can give input for the spacing?

Thanks

-Sunil

Can you attach the *.ipt file here with the geometry created however you an get it done?

I am attaching the part file.

In it I want extrusion2 to pattern along length with distance between patterns 30,40,70,80,110,170.

I just want to get an idea how is it done by ilogic.

And also I don't want to suppress the extra patterns.

Thanks

Anybody?

Maybe in the new 2015 version.

A pattern with a variable length is not a pattern.

I would model a part with all the extrusions and use Ilogic to turn them on and off as required. Sometimes there is no easy way

Looking for the same feature. Solid Works has is and it is very usefull if you want to reuse feature patterns in assemblies...

As of version 2016 Inventor does not support "variable" "patterns"..

Suppressing the ones you don't want is an option.

Could you not make it an iFeature then and just use that?

Or have a sketch with parameterised points and just reuse the sketch when needed.

Or make an program that will create points in a line for you, yeah.

This is an old thread but I've found that this method for unequally spaced patterns is very helpful.  Robot Happy
