Variable/lofted Draft

Hi,

I am reverse engineering a housing that has a draft that essentially looks like a lofted surface - see attached screenshot of IGS file. As you can see the splitline varies in height, although the radiiare always consistent. Across any given face the draft angle varies and is blended. I have no idea how to generate this draft/surface.

I have looked at similar posts but none seem to touch on this subject.

Cheers,

P

Hi! Indeed, it does look like a loft between the top edges to the split edges (parting line). You could try create offset faces from the side faces. Then loft between the top edges to the split edges on the offset faces. Let me know if it works. If not, please post it here or send it to me (johnson.shiue@autodesk.com). I would like to take a look at this case.

Many thanks!
