using sheet metal part(ipart) parameters in ilogic

Hi all,

I created a sheet metal ipart and placed it in an assembly . Then i opened the rule window in the assembly and in the model browser clicked on linked parameter of this ipart. It shows an unhandled error.

System.InvalidCastException: Unable to cast COM object of type 'System.__ComObject' to interface type 'Inventor.DerivedParameter'. This operation failed because the QueryInterface call on the COM component for the interface with IID '{0BDE54D4-8527-46BE-B2DC-7E9A5AED8AB9}' failed due to the following error: No such interface supported (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80004002 (E_NOINTERFACE)).

When i create an ipart using simple extrusion and use this in an assembly i am able to used the linked parameters of this part in the rule window without any error. This error comes up only for sheet metal parts.

Can someone provide me a solution to handle this error?

Thanks

Sid,

Did the error come up as soon as you clicked the parameter in the rule window?

I can not reproduce this in Inventor 2015, so I wondered, is your signature still accurate (i.e. are you still using Inventor 2011 with subs advantage pack?)

Hi Gabin,

Sorry for the late reply.

The error came up as soon as i clicked on "linked parameters" to view the link parameters.

No i am using inventor 2011 sub pack. What is advanced sub pack? Can i upgrade for free?
