Using design accelerators like springs in simulation

Hi Group

if I use a design accelerator to design say a spring in my assembly and then go into dynamic simulation how do I get the spring to work?

You don't.

Use Spring Force (it will look like a physical spring - complete with compression/stretching) in Dynamic simulation to determine your proper spring and THEN create the spring with design accelerator.

Hi Jd

Thanks, I have been playing with springs in the simulator and they work OK. But I would of thought that if a spring was designed in the assembly from the design accelerator then the simulator would be clever enough to replace this automatically for simulation purposes, I guess the data is there to use and it would make sense?

Is this a proposed addition in further versions?

Hi Adrian,

This is a good suggestion. I've included this into our internal tracking system as a wish list for Dynamic Simulation module. Thanks
