using a bitmap for extrusion

Sean, (and all)
This is a continuation of our bitmap discussion earlier, I have the
bitmap working now however when I use the mask and try to select the outline
silhouette for the extrusion, the entire surface is selected. I'm sure I
have done this before but it's been a while, Is there something I am
forgetting?

Jerry,
I don't think you can use the bitmap for extrusion or any feature creation.
What I've had to do for some customers is insert the bitmap into a sketch,
then trace over the bitmap, then extrude,emboss,etc. Remember IV is looking
for "closed loops" so that's why you only get the outer boundary of the
bitmap.

You can also download a freebee raster to vector program to do the "tracing"
for you; I have done this a few times with fair to good results.
