What is the ideal way of saving Inventor Part/Assembly files from ver.2013 to ver.2015.
Is there a quick way to save them or do i save 1 at a time?
Thank you
IJC
IMO, you don't need to do that at all.
2015 opens files from older versions as well. Only if saved from 2015, older versions can't read the new file anymore.

OK if i save a IV2013 part into IV2015 will it still open in 2013 if required?
No.
If needed to be worked on in 2013, you only can save back as dumb solid in a 3D exchange format (STEP, IGES, Parasolid or others)

Finally,if i want to save all my 2013 files to 2015 will i need to do 1 at a time or is there a way to save all at once?
Thanks
You can migrate them by Batch operation.
In 2015, click on Inventor "I" at the left top and expand the menu -> Manage -> Migrate

Hmm. I just noticed, that it's grayed out here in 2015.
Trying to enter "Migrieren" in the Search field of the top line resulted in a crash, with each of my attempts.

This seems to work:
- Close all Inventor tasks
- In Windows Start menu -> All programs -> Autodesk -> Inventor 2015 -> Tools -> Task xx (in German Aufgabenplanung)
- Switch to Data migration (or similar)
Best way is searching the Help for a detailed description.

To further this post, we migrate only the IPT files in the first run of the Task Manager, then all the IAM files, then the IPN files and the last files we migrate are the IDW files.
Prior to the Migration all files are copied to DVD's for archiving/backup. It's something we started doing way back on version Inventor 5, even though our network does full backups each night.
