Once you "Migrate" your files to the newer version, you won't be able to open them in the older version. The only way that you will be able to work with them will be to export them out of the newer version into a neutral format such as ISGES or STEP and then import them into your old version of Inventor. This will remove all the feature data from the model tree for all the IPT files and they will become "dumb" solids.

Hi all,
I want to uninstall lower version and keep only higher version.
I checked this scenario and find higher version doesnot support upgrade of lower version instead both coexist.
We do not want lower version to exist on machine. Please respond ASAP.
Another query : does autodesk require compulsory REBOOT after uninstallation/
Can we manually uninstall lower version and then install higher version without REBOOT in between.
