updated graphics cards and drivers

How do I or where do I go to find the most current drivers and supported cards. I can't find the Nvidia Fx Go 5600 card, and I am wondering if it is an ok card. It is the only one offered with the laptop I am getting.

In Inventor, from the Pull Down menus go

Help>Graphics Drivers

This takes you to this site

Your card is not listed. Therefore, not certified with
Inventor.

However, this sounds like a new card. When a new card comes
out it takes a while for us to test it and the drivers and certify it. The
website is updated regularly so keep visiting. If you are stuck with that card
then use the latest drivers available from the nVidia website.

I Just got the Nvidia GeForce FX 5600 -

I am having trouble with it so I called my
reseller and asked the to check with AD to see if it had been tested or
not.

According to them AD has not at this point done any
testing on it.

They "may" for R8.

Mine has been locking up the system and then
striating(sp) the screen horizontally with black and white lines.

The only fix was to do a hard boot.

Odd thing, it does it in Word more than anyplace
else.

Our IT guy isn't sure its the card or
not.

We'll see.

If it is doing it in Word as well, I would suspect either a driver
conflict or a bad card. Have your IT guy try to see if there are two
drivers fighting each other. Sometimes, when you update a driver, parts
of the original one are still there. Try turning off all the fluffy
stuff like your screen saver and power management. If those all fail,
try swapping cards.

We did a clean install of the drivers, removing all the old ones first.
I am trying to get it to fail when just IV is running and no MS app except
the OS.
Of course when I want it to it wont, isn't that just the way.
I think maybe if I open 15-20 IDWs, that may do it.
I was told if it wont do it is IV but does in word, reinstall word as that
may be corrupt.
Does that sound right?
Time will tell. I will keep the NG informed.

Did the word documents have BMP's in them? Do the black and white bars
cover the BMP height wise and the width of your screen?
