Unable to select solid for "Make Components"

I've made a multi-solid body model as an .ipt and I want to try and make all the solids into an assembly.

There are two hand rails in the model, and both are modeled the exact same way (they are the same shape and size as well),

but in "Make Components" selection window, I can select ALL solids except for the left side hand rail? If I click on the top solid

and the shift-click on the bottom one in the model browser, all of them get selected again except for the left rail.

Does anyone know what could cause Inventor not to let me select that particular solid body for assembly creation?

I tried it on simplified model and it works fine (Inv 2015). Maybe it is dataset dependent, could you post the IPT file so I can take a look?

Thanks for your input. I ended up rebuilding the rail for a different reason, and now it seems to work for "Make Components" as well.

I still have no idea what caused it though.
