Unable to import application options

Hi!

I'm using Autodesk 2014 Professional Student Version and I am unable to export or import the application options. When I try to, INV tells me that I tried to execute a not supportet process.

Is it possible to export or import the application options in the student version? Does anyone know this error?

Thanks!

YES! YES! YES!

I suspect, something went wrong during one of the latest Inventor updates.

Message is: The XML file is not a valid Application Options file.

I noticed, that my 2011 installation was broken, and sent a CER yesterday. Repair install and re-install didn't change that. After that I noticed, that I could start 2011 as a different user. Then I deleted my user profile settings in registry:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Autodesk\Inventor\Current Version

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Autodesk\Inventor\RegistryVersion15.0

After that I could start 2011 again with my normal user profile. Trying to re-import my application options, resulted in no luck and the above message.

For testing I tried to import my settings into 2015. Same message as above.

Autodesk, are you listening?

Perhaps it's induced by Update 3 for Inventor 2014 Service Pack 2 (Nov 4th, 2014). From 2011 to 2015 all imports of application options failed, except 2014.

I'll try an un-install of this update.

Oh, pardon. It's been an EBCAK.

There are different XML files in Customize and Application Options. I tried to import Customize-exported XMLs into Application Options, with all my attempts.
