Using Inventor 2015, I can't seem to create chamfers on structural shapes at the assembly level. Anyone else run into this?
To test, create a new assembly and place any structural shape from content center. Attempt to make a chamfer on it as an assembly feature. If the shape is placed as custom, the chamfer can still be applied at the part level, just not at the assembly level.
Please report your results.
I'm confident that this worked in 2013, at least. Not sure if I ever tried to do it in 2014, though...

It worked for me unless I am misunderstanding your description.
Interesting ... I can load your file, and the chamfer is there ... but if I go to edit it, it shows that it's unable to make them. If I create a new one, it is unable to make it.

I was able to do it in AIP 2015 SP1.
This also worked for me. Verify Service Pack 1 for Inventor 2015 is installed. Not sure if you have an install issue with your software if you do?

Don
Finally had a chance to test this on the other machine in my sig line, same result. No assembly-level chamfers on structural shapes from content center.

Can you post the file here? Just the part to try it out.
It worked here, is it possible you have an add-in that is missing?
David is right, it worked for me too, see attached.
I am sure you looked at everything, but this is what comes to mind.
- read only folders containing these files?
- permissions ?
Are you able to place other features at the assembly level? Do you have a "push feature to part level" or some other addons that can generate this behavior?
