UK material Library

Hi all,

Does anybody know where I can get a downloadable materials library for UK / ISO standard engineering materials? (such as steel bars, pipes, plates etc.)

The autodesk materials library has all the American stuff in, I just can't find anything that we would use in the UK.

Thanks in advance

Are you talking about content center? The material library just has stuff like "Steel, Mild".

No, the content centre is fine, I need the materials (ie 316 Stainless Steel, S355 J2 Carbon Steel, BS EN 10305-3/5 Grade E220 for tubes etc.)

With it being all standard materials surely Autodesk should have it hidden somewhere?

I guess the confusion is in that we (Americans) don't get real material either. We don't have 304, 1015, etc., we just get "Steel, Mild", and "Stainless Steel".
I made my own material library and populated it with all of the stuff we use at my shop. If your commonly used materials list isn't too lengthy then this is what I would recommend for you as well.

Hi Mike,

Have a look at the attached pics.  These are in the Autodesk library

Where does that library come from?

All I had for the "stock" materials was this:

Also - If anyone could tell me if it's possible to recover materials from 2012 to put into 2014 I'd appreciate it.

When we had the CAD company come in and update the software, we decided not to bring materials across as they're apparently difficult/time consuming to do.

However I'm getting it in the ear about not having the materials so if anyone has any pointers on what I can do to bring the old materials back I'd appreciate it.

Hi Mike,

Did you find that material library on your Inventor?
