New install of Inventor 2014 Pro, student version. Running Windows 7 SP1, Direct3d 11, meet hardware requirements. Installed Inventor SP 1, and patches. Not able to see UCS icon, XYZ planes ( quad endpoints of planes do show up - in yellow), nor the rotation cube and tool selections on right side. Best guess at this time is the graphics card needs updating, using a Radeon X800 card. Under Autocad 2014, these graphics show up. Any suggestions?
Quick check.. Go to.. tools..application options..hardware tab and set to "use software graphics".. Or try playing around with quality/performance/compatibility and see if those help..Then restart Inventor and see if they show..
If software graphics fixes it try updating your graphics card..
Did you follow the AutoDesk Software Installation Guide?

Cheap to try updating the graphics card drivers first. Inventor only needs "Microsoft Certified" graphics card drivers. The need for ADSK certified drivers went away with OpenGL.
yeah sorry. I left out the "drivers" part...
should have said... If that works try updating your graphics card "drivers"
