Turn off a sub assembly

Is it possible to literally turn off a part or sub assembly within a large assembly so it will not show up in the C of G calcs? This is a huge file, a large gantry crane, and it would be nice to turn on and off the "load" so we can see the shift in the C of G. Creating a second copy of the file with the load is possible but I'm running out of computer horsepower.

Parts or assemblies that are "Reference" are not included in the Mass or CoG (or at least in IV9...)
