Re: Trouble Shoot problem faced for Inventor 2013
Further to our purchase of your Inventor 2013 on Aug 2012 and we had supplied to our customer recently, the following complaints have been received from this customer:-
1) When creating a new drawing file and leave the file/drawing idle to answer nature's call, then come back to continue with the work but the computer/programme just system hang resulting into restart the computer and draw again.
2) But when open an old file drawing to modify and again leave the file/drawing to answer nature's call, then come back to continue with the work and the computer/programme can still continue to function without experiencing any system hang.
In view of this, we sincerely hope that your good office could assist to solve the above problems faced by our customer who have been patiently awaiting answers from your end.
Thank you.
best regards,
Samantha Chong
Hi Sam, welcome to the forums. It's going to be very difficult for anyone here to diagnose your issue with the information provided. You would be best to advise the hardware and driver details as there may be a known issue with some equipment.
Alternatively, if your customer knows that leaving a new sketch open crashes their machine, would they not be better to learn to save and close the sketch before they go? You will find that due to the complexity of Inventor and other CAD software, much of the bug fighting involves workarounds which may be in place for years before a patch is released to remedy them.
Was the software installed following Autodesk pre-requisites.
1. Logging in as Administrator or with Admin priveleges
2. If Vista or Win 7, was the UAC slider set to it's lowest position
3. Some Anti-Virus software may restrict updates to the Windows Registry causing problems
4. Are you current with all graphics card drivers and windows SP's and hotfixes.
5. Have you installed all Autodesk SP's and hot-fixes for your version of Inventor.
6. Check your Windows "Power" settings. You may have the computer set to "sleep" after a given period of time and it's not walking up properly.
