Hello,
I am having a great deal of trouble expanding the 2013 essentials zip file to the root of my C drive in windows 8. It says I do not have the administrative privileges to do so even though my computer is a personal laptop and is not running on a network. In my C drive I even created a folder labeled Inventor Essentials Data and it allowed me to place the zip file there but when I go through the tutorials in Chapter 2 page 35 instruction 3 to find the c02-01.ipt file I cant find it. What am I doing wrong and how can I fix it? Please help as I am excited to learn Inventor through Sybex Autodesk Inventor 2013 Essentials by Thom Tremblay but I just need to overcome this small hurdle. Any advise would be welcomed.
You don't need to be on a network to have user account settings.
Not sure on the structure in Win8 as it's not a supported system for Autodesk Inventor (not saying it won't run)
Start>Control Panel>User Accounts>Change your account type:

How are you attempting the extraction?
(Right click on zip and Extract All?)
