Trimming a pattern without losing constraints

I used a rectangular pattern to repeat a whole bunch of rectangles. There are a few lines near the top left of the sketch that I would like to trim. I've tried editting the pattern and unchecking Associative, but this results in a a lot of unconstrained items. Is there anyway I can keep the constraints and trim the pattern easily?

Hi Sanketh,

try selecting the elements of the pattern  that you want to delete, right click and choose  "suppress element/s"

try the split tool in the sketch and then turn the stuff you dont want to construction geometry

Is there a way to use the grill tool on a sketch?

That works, but I really don't want to suppress 20+ lines and redraw them to a correct length.

I've tried that already, and unfortunately it doesn't work with these lines.

I've just seen problems with Grill feature some days ago. But can you show your actual IPT, instead of the DWG?

Yeah sorry about that. I accidentally uploaded the drawing file instead of the ipt file. I put the drawing in a block just fyi.

Hi! Certainly, it will be nice if the associative sketch pattern can allow some override in geometry. Can I ask why trimming has to happen on sketch level? Could you create geometry based on the sketch and then trim the geometry?

Thanks!

I think the trimming needs to be done in the sketch because the final product is the sketch itself. I don't plan on turing it into a 3d part.

I'm not sure how exactly I could do that.
