Trim Problems

Hey guys, having some problems with the trim feature here. I am building a frame with the frame generator and would like to trim a short frame member that sits between 2 long parrallel members. When I choose trim to frame, the longer bar cuts its length to butt up against the short one. Trim/extend wont work at all, the ok button is greyed out. Frame.png

I have just found the answer, I was mis using the extend feature. Thanks for the quick reply.

Attach the assembly here (only need the two parts and skeleton).
