Toolbar Help, Please!

This is gonna sound pretty stupid but here it goes... some how the fillet
toolbox that pops up got drug off of my screen to the left. The X and half
of the tack is all i can see. You can not grab it and drag it over unless
you can pull on the left side of the tack. i tried changing resolutions and
stuff but it don't help. Is there a way to reset toolbar windows or
something?? This makes resuming work kinda difficult!
Thanx Everyone

I had a similar problem with a program in windows 2000. I searched the
registry for the program file name and found an instance that listed
something like last saved window size or something. I was able to reset the
values to zero and it cleared up. I am not sure if Inventor saves positions
the same way. Maybe someone in this group could confirm or deny this.
Also, if you are not familiar with registry editing, contact your official
company computer rep. before trying this.

Odd that changing screen resolution doesn't help?? Strictly at your own risk.... if you
don't know what you are doing in the registry don't try it.........

Close the Fillet dialog with the X

Go to
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Autodesk\Inventor\RegistryVersion6.0\System\Preferences\Dialog

Find and write down the value of key 804
double click on it and change the values to 200,200,1

start the Fillet command and it should be moved..... if not, set the value back to what it
was.

Actually I think it makes perfect sense that the resolution doesn't help.
The position is remember from the top left (as in VB) so the relative
position from top left never changes when you change resolution.

Your suggestion *should* work fine.

Kent,

I seems that you may have a list of registry keys and their functions? Or
is it the result of endless hours of probing ?

More like a couple of minutes of probing I moved the fillet dialog to the bottom
right corner, Hit F5 in the registry to update it and found the dialog with the largest
numbers Closed the fillet dialog, changed the values and it moved the next time I
opened it. 8^)

"More like a couple of minutes of probing ..."

That remembers me how I learned this registry key:
I'd been at a customer for a presentation of IV4.
There were a lot of people, so I connected my
box to a beamer and started to show how nice
IV was. But when I finished the first sketch and
started the extrusion command there was no
dialog window. Suddenly I remembered that
IV stores the dialog positions and this box was
usually connected to a 24" screen. So I took a
deep breath, closed IV, started regedit, searching
for something useful, found the "Dialog" key and
deleted the whole key, hoping IV would reset all
dialog positions. I was lucky with this and later on
my customer ordered fife seats of IV.
