Thread View Problem

I am having a problem with the display of threads. The problem has only just occured but i am unable to find a cause.
When I model a thread on to a shaft (see attached Pic), I do not see the thread, i have also lost the ability to 'display thread feature' within an .idw. The only thing that i can think may have caused this is the installation of 3ds max7 trial about a week ago, but i do not understand how.

(N.b the thread on the attached pic is the lighter shaded area at the smaller end)

Can anyone help?

Hi,

Just a quick question. Did you turn off the "Show Reflections and Textures" option in the application options? Before looking all around, I would check that; even if you didn't turn it off yourself...
