'thread" tool link not working

I recently updated my product design suite from 2012 to 2015 via AutoDesk subscription.  Everything seems to be working OK except for the following two issues...

1. In a part file I try to apply threads to my model and I'm receiving this error message (image attached).

2. I've installed the software on an external hard drive but it seems as thought my template and libraries are being pulled for a 'program data' folder on my 'c' drive, is this normal?  Can I make it so everything is on my external drive to free up space on my workstation?

Thanks in advanced for any help,

Josh

i got exactely the same problem but i got a perfect solution

Go to the Windows Start menu, type in Run in the Search.

In the Run dialog box type in regedit, then select OK.

Browse to the following folder in the registry:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Autodesk\Inventor\RegistryVersion1x.0\System\Preferences\Part

Where x will depends on the version of Inventor you need to edit.

x=7 for Inventor 2013

x=6 for Inventor 2012

x=5 for Inventor 2011 etc.

In the Part folder edit the UseExcelToReadThreadFile entry.  Change the default Value data from 0 to 1.

WARNING: you could kill your computer tring

if it doesnt work you can change the tread.xls file

the file is in C:\Users\Public\Documents\Autodesk\Inventor 2015\Design Data\XLS\en-US
