Start by constraining your sketches. You have 88 Dimensions and
constraints missing in the first three sketches. This is bound to cause
a LOT of issues.

I would have constructed this in a different way.

Hi Dennis
For my 88 dimension that's because i have break the link with the master sketch
Same thing with the link
I have find many workflow to make this but with the easy way, inventor can't
It's basic

"If at first you don't succeed, try, try again." "Experience is what you get when you don't get what you really wanted". Mark it up to valuable experience and take the advice offered (for free) from the previous responder (notice he's a Certified Expert)!

You'll find more success in adapting to the software, not trying to adapt the software to your ideas. Your definition of "easy" seems to equate to "doesn't work".

Hey, it's "tough love", but at least it's love!

While I agree that you should constrain your sketches to eliminate
problems from cropping up, this issue does not seem to be created from that.
The original post pointed out annomalous surfaces created from the offset
face and if anyone knew how to fix it. The file that was attached had a
broken link to a derived part which was probably done so he could more
easily post it here, just a guess. No reason to yell at him for something
like this. As for it not being easy, well sometimes you just have to think
a bit on how to create a feature and look for other options. If you see the
attached file it is not that difficult to create the feature you desire. I
think it is easier and cleaner than your try at the offset face and worked
flawlessly the first time I tried.
Also the issue had seems to be caused by offsetting the face. If you
look at the file I did there is an artifact of some sort attached to the
offset face. It doesn't seem to be an issue because the way I did it that
artifact is no longer on any of the cutting planes like it was in your file.
Hope this helps.

Offset is perpendicular to the surface not parallel to the X axis, so the middle face of the 3 would leave the untrimmed edge. You can see it easier here as I removed your top surface and increased the offset a little.

Thank you very much
I understand now.
this was a exemple of project with master sketch for my students.(See pic)
If i try with other SoftWare the offset surface is correctly trimed
And when a guy love Inventor like me and the student ask me why the substract thicken bug
I've no choice to tell "that's a bug" and I look the floor.

You have peaked my interest on what the other SoftWare can do with this geometry (wink, wink).
In the attached image, are you looking for a true offset as on the left or what's on the right?

Left side one is a true offset to my way of thinking.

Hi Yannick,
As mbenoy's diagram demonstrates, Offset might not be the right tool to use here. The Move Face tool is more suited to this kind of operation, but (as you'll know if you've already tried this) this fails to produce a result when attempting it on these faces. I have logged your IPT with the modelling team as defect 1274278 to try and fix this issue.

Many thanks!
