Tendon motion simulation in Autodesk Inventor

Hi all,

Can anyone please recommend a way of simulating tendon driven motion using Inventor?

Basic setup is wire going through a slab. Wire is fixed on one or both ends to slab. Wire contracts (fixed on both ends) or gets pulled on (fixed to one end).

Rendered simple case.bmp

Green part is the slab (soft rubbery) black is the wire/tendon which can contract or be pulled on one side.

Thank you for your time

Can you attach your assembly here?

You can probably do some animations, but if you are expecting to do some bending, compression analysis - you won't be able to do that with the Inventor analysis tools.

Assembley packed attached.

If I do need to analyze some bending and compression is there a work around or a recommended way?

Thanks 🙂
