Telescopic cylinder constraint

Hi!

I'm trying to create a telescopic cylinder motion in Inventor, making the cylinders move together.

Like in this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8C60eoR1Egs

Is this possible without using inventor studio? I can't figure out what constraint or joint to use.
I attached a test model, it would be great if someone has time to check it out.

Yes.  In a case like this I'd constrain the overall stroke, name the constraint parameter (so I can find it!), then constrain the other cylinders in the same way, but using 1/3rd of the "OverallStroke" parameter as their offset.

In the attached, find assembly constraint called "DRIVE" and drive it.

Thank you for showing me this Peter. I can use this not only for the cylinder, but the whole elevator project i'm working on for university-college. I can post it here when it's finished.

Thanks again and greetings from Norway.

Greetings from NZ.

Glad it worked.  Best of luck with your studies!  Looking forward to seeing the finished project.
