Table with bottom Justification and no Heading.

I'd like to create a revision table that will stack new rows on top, leaving the bottom of the table stationary. It does this when the "heading at bottom" option is selected.

But I'd like to do this without a heading.

When you use the "No Heading" option, the table acts as if the justification is at the top.

Is there a way to make a revison table act in this way?

Yeah, that's where I am. And I do have the stacking option going from bottom to top.

What I'm having trouble with is keeping the bottom of the table stationary, and having the table move up, rather than down, when a row is added.

could be ANOTHER 2013 bug...maybe one of the gurus could give it a quick test for you.

I postponed the upgrade this year...there were way too many posts with bugs and tech issues with 2013 within a week of release.

Ill wait for SP1 before I test (mid project so cad trouble is scarey stuff)

I don't think it's a bug, I just don't think the scenerio I'm talking about comes along very often.

This has been this way in Inventor for every release back I have available and memory serves. It was logged with our development team in 2007 and deemed as designed by them. What happens is the header governs the added rows’ positions and not the direction when there is no header selected because the default behavior for no heading is to work the same way as when the heading is set to the top of the revision table and it can be easily adjusted and anchored when the new row is added. A parts list and general table react in the same fashion. I'd encourage you to add this to the wishlist.

I've made a request.

This is how I would fix the issue. The header location drop down would only have to options, top and bottom. Then there would be a check-box for header visibility, just like the title visibility.

I think the general concesus from the people I know that use Inventor is:

they can do what they want with the stupid revision system...they have ignored suggestions for how revisions are handeld for tooo long

I create my own revision table as part of the drawing sheet borders and title blocks.

I just use the rev triangles...I mean they cant even make revclouds part of the program you have to add them from the developer kit.

Did you mean to say "They can't do what they want?

We have been using a table in our title block with sketched symbols for revision lines and triangles in our drawings until now.

I think I can make the built in revision lines work with our standards, but it's a bit tricky.

We use letter revisions for pre-signed drawings, and these revisions stay constant across the drawing set.

We use number revisions for any revision after the drawing set has been issued for construction, and these are only revised on a per sheet basis.

Since revision tables have to be either numbers or letters, and either 'entire drawing' or 'per sheet', we have to use two revision tables. Each table will be on a different layer.

Even this round-about system will be quicker than adding custom sketched symbols for revision lines and tags. Plus changing the revision number in each title block.

I agree with you on the revision clouds though. It seems that those are a pretty standard on any type of drawing.
