system slow down with IV6 in xp

hello

i installed IV6 in xp pro, but when i open it, it slows down the system a lot, i can´t even open word or excel, they take several minutes to open. i heard the processor running fast and the percentage of use of it is constantly changing from near 10 to 80 or 90, even when i close IV6 the problem continues.
my computer is a P4 1.4 512ram and fully centified video driver nvidia geforce 2

thanks

You running anti-virus by chance (or on purpose I guess it would be,

I think you can set it to not scan Inventor files.

Install the latest licensing drivers from here:

http://support.autodesk.com/enu/getDoc.asp?id=DL402225

Norton may also have fixes for Systemworks on their site.
