Some of my work planes show a symbol in the browser - the letter "i" with a circle around it. What is IV trying to tell me?

Hi Carnac,

Typically, the symbol for "sickness" is saying the work plane has lost a
reference to something that was used to define it. For example, a workplane
is created using some upstream edge or feature. That edge or feature is
later altered significantly or removed. At the time this happens there is
usually an error like "problems occurred - could not build this plane" and
the error is accepted. This symbol in front of a modeling feature usually
means a similar thing has happened. Redefining the "sick" feature usually
cures the problem. However, there are different levels of "sickness" and in
some cases the feature needs to be deleted and recreated.

I hope this helps,

Yes, I knew that little symbol couldn't be good news. But I worked around the problem.

Glad to hear you got around it.

The symbols are a way to find features with problems easily, but instead of
accepting errors and causing sickness, it's usually better to deal with the
situation right away. Not only is it easier to make repairs when the
feature relationships are fresher in your mind, but the more sickness you
have in your model the easier it is to achieve that next level of sickness I
mentioned.
