sweep to face

I would like to draw a sweep of a pipe between two cylindrical faces. The
pipe is welded at both ends to the cylindrical faces. How can I do draw this
efficiently?

You can't directly do a sweep to face (another big wishlist item, along with
2 rail sweeps) so you have really only have one choice. Sweep the pipe past
the faces and then trim it to fit.

Gotcha Berry. Now how would I go about trimming an intersection between 3
pipes?

Using a combination of sweep and extrude to a construction surface you
might? be able to accomplish what you need. I put a little example in
iCF. Sure would be nice to be able to sweep to at least a surface, face
would be better.

See "pipe" in ivCF. It may have something useful in it. 8~)

If the pipe isn't curved at the junctions, you can stop the sweep short of
the joining pipes, make sketchs on the ends of the pipe and extrude to a
face on both ends.

I forgot to mention that this has to be in an assembly context. I would like
to get an idw of all the pipes in the intersection as well as a weldment
drawing.

Shoulda Known
Check iCF for crossover-assy (IV7). It's a little shaky but so am
I. Just turn on the weldment environment and apple welds. Left them out
so it's easier to analyze construction. The Width Constraint doesn't
always update properly and I can't find the trouble spot. Oh well,
you'll get the idea.

Sweet Jeff. I removed the id sketch on the two 3 inch cylinders and applied
a shell. Worked like a champ. Blended the id fillets at the tube and
cylinder intersection pretty nice.
