Sweep Operation Fail

I am working to create a 3D nest which utilizes a 3D sketch from a different part. We have completed this samed thing with around 8 other nests in the past but this one is giving us an issue.

The sketch is based off of the part itself therefore we are not able to modify profiles to create any less of a curve. The 3D sketch is comprised of smaller sections that are joined together to create the entire profile. To create the nest we have to create two sweeps: the first is a circle which signifies the outer most tolerence of the tube and is a path sweep, the second is essentially a keyhole which extends to the top and is how the part would be loaded and this is a path and guide surface sweep.

The interesting part is that we are able to do one or the other but are not able to do both... again this is the only part we are not able to do this with.

Is there any trick to help through this issue? Am I able to create a single 3D profile to help?

Any help is appreciated!

What version of Inventor?

Have you installed all Service Packs and Updates?

Is the path tangent continuous?

Can you attach the *.ipt file here?
