Hi,
I often inport surfaces from CATIA or make new models based on copying surface objects into a new part. While the last few releases of Inventor have made the coloring of surfaces better I still run into many problems in the drawings. I can turn the transparency off in my part file and also group select all the surface bodies and change the color. Things appear fine in the assembly and part environment but run into issues on the drawing. I often have the surfaces appearing yellow in the drawing, even with associative views on. This especially is a problem in section views where these surfaces are almost always yellow.
Are there any other tips or tricks I am missing or is this a known bug that may or may not be fixed in a future release?
Thanks,
Rob
The issue is that a surface body is not translucent, but appears to translucent in a shaded view of a drawing, correct?
In the Drawing tab of Application Options, could you try unchecking 'Enable Background Updates' and 'Memory Saving Mode'?
I tried to replicate this in 2013 SP1.1 Update 2 and could not. Perhaps this issue is file specific. Does it seem to occur for every surface body or only those from the imported file? Is there a simplified example or a file that you could share?
Thanks,
Hi,
Yes - that is the issue. I tried your suggestion but the part still appears yellow and translucent.
It appears to be somewhat random. I often have a multibody part made up of numerous composites or surfaces and only one composite will appear yellow on the drawing even though it is clearly white and non-translucent in the actual part environment. This could happen in the base view or section views. It could also appear fine in one view but yellow in another view. I will try to make a non-proprietary example for you.
