Suppressing a Feature in a Derived Part

I have a part (hyd. piston shaft) that is 1st Rough Machined, then Welded, and finally Finish Machined as a Derived Part. It has an optional shoulder on the shaft that I want to be able to suppress in the final Finish Machine, but dont see the option other than going back to the  original Rough Out and suppressing it there...

Thanks!

Jess

Is there a reason you are not doing the machining in a weldment assembly? The only way I know of to remove a feature in a derived part is to use the Delete Face tool with the heal setting checked.

Did you resolve this or are you still having this issue.

If you are, can you post your file with a detailed explaination of what you are trying to do and what you want the outcome to be?
