Suffix location, toleranced dimensions

Hey guys,

So we are working with a new client who requires dimensions to be in decimal inches with inch marks after the nominal dimension. [2.50", 2.50"±.003, etc.]

What I can't get Inventor to do for me is put an inch mark after the nominal dimension like that. It seems no matter how I set up the dimension/tolerancing styles, my inch marker comes after the tolerances. [2.5±.003"]

I'm using Inventor 2015.

Any guidance?

Thanks!!

Hi ScottBoggess,

I took a quick look, but I didn't see any way to get the results you're wanting.

I hope this helps.
Best of luck to you in all of your Inventor pursuits,
Curtis

There is no way to do it because if your dimensions are in decimal than is means it’s using inches. A lot of clients would be okay if you put “ALL DIMENSIONS DISPLAYED ARE IN INCHES” somewhere in the title block or in the notes.

I hope this helps.

Thanks

JD
