Stress analysis, Force as output

Hi everyone,

I'm trying to figure out what the maximum force is I can apply to a part, is it possible to let Inventor do this for me?

For exxample: I want to know what maximum Force [N] can be applied to a certain face, that the maximum Stress is 355 [MPa].

So I basically want to reverse the input and output of a standard stress analysis. Is this possible?

Thanks in advance for the help.

Leon

Directly you can't,because the system needs anyway to simulate every new force case, you can follow an  interactive path to solve it.

With some code iLogic would be interesting too (don't know if it would be possibile, never seen iLogic in stress analysis..but for that woudl be interesting)

Apply a force of 1 N

Look at the factor of safety.

If you now apply the value of the factor of safety as a force you should get a factor of safety of 1.

This is not the direct method I was hoping for, but it does the trick.

Thanks!
