STEP Import with false surfaces

I have come across a problem where I import a step file. And it brings in a false surface that is not supposed to be in the file.  When I highlight the base of the solid it only highlights what it should (not the false surface). The surface cannot be extude cut or removed. Is there any idea on how to solve this issue?

Hi! There could be some bad geometry in the original STEP file. This one looks like a bad sphere with inverted face normal. You can edit the base solid in Repair Environment and run Find Errors. If the tool does not detect any error, you can unstitch the solid and stitch them back to a solid. The solid should be healthy then.

If you have hard time following the above instruction, please post the file here or send it to me (johnson.shiue@autodesk). I am more than happy to take a look at it for you.

Thanks!
