Hi,
I have may standard created. Lately I needed similar one so I have created it basing on the one I was using.
Afterthat I wantet to change object defoult settings for my new standard but there are not object defoults for this one. It seems to use the same stet as my original standard.
When I activate any of those and go to Object Defoults tab in "Active Objects Defoults" ther is always the same name listed (My standrads have differnet names).
When I make any change in defoults they are changed for both of my standards.
What is happening?
Cris.

Cris,
What version of Inventor are you using?
You have changed your IPJ so that your Use Style Library is Read-Write?
Thank you.
Hi kmeldfreyssinet,
If I understand your question correctly, then it might help to recall how all of this works:
A Standard is simply a collection of Styles. An Object Default set is a Style, which controls which Style is used by default when you create annotation, and what layers those annotations are placed on. For instance if you have 3 dimension styles, you would set the Object Default style to use one of those dimensions by default, and then you could manually switch to one of the other 2 manually as needed as you place dimensions, or after then dimensions are placed.
So when you create a new Standard from an existing one, it initially uses all of the same Styles, including the Object Default style. If you create a new Object Default from the existing one, then you can make changes to it as needed, and then you can set your new Standard to use this new Object Default set. You do this by clicking the Standard in the left pane of the Style and Standard editor and setting it active, and then clicking the Object Defaults tab as shown, and then setting the Active Object Defaults setting as shown:
I hope this helps.
Best of luck to you in all of your Inventor pursuits,
Curtis

Hi,
thanks. This is what I needed.
I however do not follow this logic of Standards and styles. What I would need standard without its own object defaults settings for? How would I use it? Changing every object manually?
It is so not obvious.
solution for initial problem is now known but maybe you could also explain basis for this logic? I
also have big issues with purging standards. It seems not possible.
Cris,
