Split to multi body fails

Any ideas why the solid3 can't be split by workplane3 into two bodies?

All seems fine if I do this split first.

The wierd thing is if I trim the back part, some elements have remained. It must be the way you made Solid3 that it can't be splitted.

Yeah, doing a part split instead of the multi-body split is pretty weird. I had noticed that but figured it would muddy the water.

I didn't go into this one very deep - but first thing I noticed is there is no green checkmark next to the Base indicating it passed Quality Check.
First thing I would have done is send to the Construction Environment and run quality check.
and...

unless the goal is only to minimally split this thing up
... I would isolate the various parts into Groups in the CE and stitch and promote each one individually.

Way too much work for my intended need.

I did run it through CE and it did pass quality check. Dumped that file and started over when I realized that it would take longer than necessary.

I logged DID 1387282 for development to investigate. Thanks for reporting and providing the sample part.
