Split Part

Hi. I am trying to do some signs and I am having some difficulty. I work
for a company where one of the things we do is make signs out of coextruded
plastic. There are 2 thin layers of 1 color that are extruded with a thick
layer of another color. For instance a color may be red/yellow/ red. We rout
thru the first layer to expose the second layer so you can read the sign.
Chales Bliss showed me how to do this in a single part file, but I can't get
it to work out for me. I need to do an example of this that I need to have
finished by tomorrow. Can any of you walk me thru the process of how to do
this? I put an example that I tried to do along with an example that Charles
did for me. They are under the same heading as this subject. The end of part
marker is at the top, and they are not zipped. Sorry about that.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Kevin

Sorry about that. I put a zipped file under the same subject but it is a
fresh post. If anyone can delete the first one please do.

Thanks,

Kevin

Looks like all he did is change the face colors. There is no depth to that
though.

To do it simply select the face in the graphics area as you would to start a
sketch, then right click and select properties. You should get a dialog
allowing you to change the face color.

Personally I think I might do it a bit different. I think I would extrude 3
separate features to make the layers and change the feature colors instead
of the face colors.

Glad you got to it Kent ... I intended to look at it but got derailed onto a
dead-end spur it seems.
