Split Line location

Hi All,

Im creating a mould tool for the part below. I want the slit to be where the plane is but i can only add run-off surfaces to an edge. If i have the split in the top or bottom i will get problems with coreing the hole and getting the centure cylinder.

Ant Ideas?

Are  you using Inventor Professional with the Mold Tooling?

Can you attach the *.ipt file here?

Exactly what trouble are you having?  Looks like a fairly simple part.

If I were working on something like that - the first thing I would do is set the Visual Style to Shaded with Edges.

Do you have face draft on the part relative to the split line (can't really tell from your image).

The Runnoff command only lets me select edges...

Ahh face drift, that will give me an edge.

You can also get edges by simply Splitting the faces, but the part looks to me like it should have some draft on some of those faces.
