HI,
dose anyone have an idea how to make spiral array?
I am to model ballscrew and would like to put ball in. To do so I would need something like spiral array but now realy do not have any good idea how to do this.

Spiral or Helix?
In any case - curve driven pattern.
See http://home.pct.edu/~jmather/skillsusa%20university.pdf
and attach your file(s) here.
OK, it helpt a little
Curve driven pattern works ok in part pile. So I can make all balls in row as one part. I would like to be able to pattern individual ball in assembly along helics, or other curve.
I still do not have idea how to do this. I had in the meantime tried to play with iCopy but I can not get it work with helis, it returns error.

Make pattern of workpoints in part file.
Make pattern of components in assembly file to follow part pattern.
Attach your assembly here.
OK this is some solution that is possible to use.
But it get me to another problem. is there any way to make paramiter value as result of non linear equation?

Cris
The above link doesnt work. I get a blank page. is there somewhere else I can get information on a curve driven pattern?
A search here should turn up dozens of examples of "curve driven patterns".
What version of Inventor are you using? Is there information in the wikihelp (it is actually called Rectangular Pattern, but can be used for curve driven patterns). (this link just worked for me http://home.pct.edu/~jmather/skillsusa%20university.pdf )
Thanks for the reply.
I finally got the link to work. What I'm actually trying to do is attach digger bars to the trailing edge of an auger created using a helix curve. I'm still on 2009. The digger bars are an assembly consisting of a flat bar and a conical shape. I have tried to create a rectangular pattern of work points along the curve of the auger but it doesnt seem to want to follow the curve. The work points seem to wander off the center line. Not sure whats wrong.
