Speaking of SP2

As typical I never blindly load on a new service pack until I see all or most of the issues involved.

There were numerous issues with SP2. Have they all been cleared? Is it fairly safe to load it now?

Do a search in the NG. There have been past posts about SP2 and it's usefullness. There are a few things that some people say worked better in SP1 than SP2. Printing out shaded IDW views is one of them if memory serves. I think many have passed up the installation of SP2. Read the SP2 readme to see if anything that was fixed sounds important to you.

I am very unhappy with SP2. It was a mistake to
install.

My experience is to not load it if you use semi-isolated enviroment. Otherwise its safe and seem to have solved some issues.

Nah - shaded idw views are still problematic
in both SP1 & 2.

It probably depends on what you do.... I do easy sheet metal parts. The most important issue for me was there was a significant improvement to idw's. Not nearly if any lost dimensions in pink. Also migrated files from 5.3 were being corrupted in there idw form only. This has not happened since sp2. For me I am stable (for the most part)and having fewer idw problems.

You know Larry C. had this problem a week or so ago. I speak kindly of sp2 (which I still do) and subsequently it crashed 3 times. (i have not had to reboot that may clear the crash cause) I had not rebooted or crashed in over a week. i have note eve shut the computer down.
