solid parts question

I want to make a solid part out of an assembly. When I save as an SAT part, Inventor saves all of the indivdual parts as SAT parts. What I want to do is to join all of the parts into 1 part and break the link from all of the ipt files.

I am generating parts to use in plant layouts. I am not sure if a derived part will do this. I knoe that SW will allow "joined" parts.

Any opinions?

Kevin
