Hi all. I have just upgraded from a win vista pro Desktop to a Dell M3800 laptop running win 7 pro 64 bit. I have re-installed my inventor 2010 suite on the new laptop and everything is fine apart from when using commands in sketch mode. The automatic constraints and dims are very jerky and not smooth? I On my old system they were fine and this laptop is far more powerful? Can anyone help with this. Thank you
First try going to
Tools>Application Options>Hardware tab and set on lowest setting.
Any better?
Work your way up the list.
Do you have the latest graphics driver for your card installed.
Did you install the Service Packs for your version of Inventor?
Did you follow the AutoDesk Software Installation Guide?
Also, make sure Snap to Grid is not enabled.
Hi All
Thanks for the replies
I have checked snap to grid is off and it is.
I have the latest graphics drivers from Nvidia and Inventor suggests they are certified.
I have tried all 3 settings under hardware options and none of them make a difference
I installed the software as per the guide with the excpetion of turning off User account controls? This is something i have never done and never suffered this problem?
also just noticed that ballooning in idw's is also very slow and jerky? It seems to be anything that has automatic options running like constraints or aligning etc???
anymore help on this would be greatly appreciated
